The journey of creation
At Gallery Rivette, every piece tells a story. Discover the unique journey each abstract painting, shadow box, and assemblage takes from an initial spark of inspiration to a finished work of art.
From concept to canvas
My artistic process always begins with a simple sketch. This initial idea is merely a starting point, a whisper of what could be. It's a dialogue between my thoughts and the emerging form, allowing the art to guide its own evolution.
Crafting with intention
Whether I'm creating a vibrant abstract painting or a detailed shadow box, I use a diverse range of materials. For shadow boxes, I incorporate molding plaster, acrylic paint, and various types of wood and plywood. These materials are carefully selected to bring the initial vision to life.
Where art speaks for itself
The most crucial aspect of my process is allowing the art to tell me what it should become. It's an intuitive journey, where each brushstroke or placement of an element is a response to the piece itself. This unique dialogue ensures that every creation is truly one-of-a-kind.
"I find immense joy in creating new pieces of art that speak to me, with the hope that others will find some of the joy that comes from art."
